On its return journey, the train will depart Secunderabad at 9 p.m. to reach Adilabad at 6.15 a.m. According to SCR sources the number of bogies is likely to go up from the present 18 to 22. It will include the non reserved class, the sleeper class, the AC chair car and AC 3 tier. The distance between Adilabad and Secunderabad is 492 kms inclusive of the 81 kms of inflated distance between Adilabad and Mudkhed juntion in Maharashtra. Tirupati is 1,228 kms from Adilabad. The fares from Secunderabad will be Rs. 110 for the non reserved class, Rs. 215 for the sleeper class, Rs. 449 for AC chair car and Rs. 574 for AC 3 tier. The fares for Tirupati will be Rs. 202 for non reserved class, Rs. 381 for the sleeper class, Rs. 810 for the AC chair car and Rs. 1,043 for AC 3 tier. The Krishna Express is going to a commercial success because of the heavy demand. At present the RTC runs 17 daily services to Hyderabad while private bus operators run seven services. The total combined seating capacity works out to about 1,200. In addition a few scores travel towards Hyderabad by private cars. Before the Krishna Express gets going, Adilabad railway station will witness increased activity because of the Nanded-bound special trains originating at Howrah. Every third day starting October 1, a special train will be run from Howrahl to Nanded in Maharashtra for two months in view of the ‘Gurta Gaddi’ programme of the Sikh community being celebrated at the latter city.
