Wage revision for mill workers

CHENNAI: The State government on Monday announced wage revision for workers employed in co-operative spinning mills. According to an official release, as per the new wage revision, a cooperative spinning mill employee will get a pay hike of Rs.560 a month. Accordingly, an agreement was signed with the State Minister for Handlooms and Backward Classes, K.K.S.S.R. Ramachandran, and the trade union association of cooperative mills. The agreement, effective from January 1, 2008, will benefit 1,336 persons. — Special Correspondent
