Consider graduate teachers’ plea: court
Special Correspondent
CHENNAI: The Madras High Court has directed the official authorities to consider three representations of the Tamil Nadu Pattathari Asiriyar Kootamaippu requesting drawal of seniority and equity in promotional chances for the members.
The petitioner’s grievance was that the members of the union were recruited on a temporary basis. They were regularised by a government order dated June 27, 2006. But the inter se seniority of B.T.Assistants had not been done so far. Their representations had not been considered by the authorities. Hence, the association filed the petition seeking appropriate direction.
In his order, Justice S. Nagamuthu said having regard to the limited scope of the prayer, he was disposing of the petition with a direction to the respondents – The Secretary, School Education, Director of School Education and the Director of Elementary Education – to consider the representations of the association dated December 27, 2006, April 11, 2007 and December 27, 2007 and pass appropriate orders in accordance with law, preferably within four months.
