BHUBANESWAR: Train services between Bhubaneswar and Puri were disrupted following heavy floods in River Bhargavi. Several trains were cancelled, short-terminated and rescheduled. A statement released by East Coast Railway (ECR) said there was overflow of Bhargavi river water over railway bridge no. 44 in between Delang and Birpurusottampur Railway stations in Khurda Road – Puri Section. Trains which were cancelled included Puri – Tirupati Express, Puri–Khurda Road and Khurda Road - Puri on Tuesday. The New Delhi – Puri Purusottam Express scheduled to arrive at Puri on date would be short terminated at Bhubaneswar and would run as 2802 Puri – New Delhi Purusottam Express. Other trains those were short terminated included Cuttack – Puri passenger, Puri – Cuttack passenger and 201 Santragachi – Puri passenger on 23.09.08. The 2838 Puri – Howrah Express, 8452 Puri – Hatia Tapaswini Express and 8410 Puri – Howrah Sri Jagannath Express have been rescheduled.
