Nagercoil: The Collector B.Jothi Nirmala on Monday distributed the sum of Rs.7.60 lakhs to four non-governmental organizations working for the benefit of mentally retarded students in different parts of the district. She distributed certificates to nine physically handicapped students, who had completed 6-month computer training programme, Rs.11,439 to Sujimon of Pacadu and Rs.24,000 to Kannan of Agastheeswaram to under go heart operation. The sum of Rs.25,000 had also been distributed to the legal heirs of Velmurugan of Chunkankadai who was killed in a road accident recently. The Collector also handed over old age pension to nine persons and financial assistance to three widows.
