The accused involve a policeman, deputy civil surgeon and a mandal education officer HYDEERABAD: A policeman who sought bribe to clear a verification certificate for getting a passport, a doctor who accepted bribe to issue an attendance certificate, and a mandal education officerwere nabbed by the sleuths of Anti-Corruption Burea in West Godavari, Karimnagar and Krishna districts respectively. The accused were arrested and remanded to judicial custody. According to an ACB press release on Monday, head constable B. Saibaba of Tanuku station in West Godavari took Rs. 300 from P. Papa Rao of Velpuru village for clearing the verification certificate. Attendance certificateIn Karimnagar district, Deputy Civil Surgeon of Chandurthy Primary Health Centre, Dr. K. Rajaiah, was arrested after he allegedly took Rs. 2,000 for giving an attendance certificate to a person. In Krishna district, mandal education officer P. Venkata Udaya Prabhakar was trapped when he accepted a bribe of Rs.1,500 from a complainant. The bribe money laced with a chemical was recovered in all the three instances. The chemical deposits of which are found on the hands of the accused, turns red when washed with water. The red colour water is collected and preserved along with the chemical-laced currency used as the bait by the anti-graft officials.
