Panel on ex-servicemen’s welfare to be formed
Special Correspondent
HYDERABAD: Home Minister K. Jana Reddy has issued orders for constitution of a committee consisting of Sainik Welfare director, secretary, Home, and some ex-servicemen to go into the problems of ex-servicemen in the State.
The Minister took this immediate step after hearing the problems of ex-servicemen at a meeting with representatives of National Ex-Servicemen Co-ordination Committee at the Secretariat on Monday.
L. Jagan Reddy, secretary-general of the organisation, later said that the committee would also sort out “some differences between the ex-servicemen and the Sainik Welfare Directorate “over some welfare measures.
A major demand put forth before the Minister by the ex-servicemen delegation was that an ex-servicemen cooperative corporation be constituted using Rs. 31 lakh allocated by the State government for their welfare for this year and Rs. 19 lakh coming from the Sainik Welfare Directorate.
