SHRC interacts with injured Narayana students

Staff Reporter

HYDERABAD: Representatives of the State Human Rights Commission on Tuesday visited Kamineni Hospital and interacted with students who were injured when parapet wall and staircase railing collapsed at Narayana Boys Residential Junior College in Chengicherla on Saturday.

Based on a complaint received from the ABVP State secretary R. Raju, the Commission members went to the hospital to enquire about the incident.

They also recorded the statements of students, their parents, college assistant zonal in-charge B. V. Nagaraju and doctors.

Poor construction

College zonal in-charge Nagaraju too admitted that the sub-standard construction work was the reason for Saturday’s incident. Kamineni Hospital Corporate Communications (Head) V.S.R. Naidu said 14 of the 21 injured students were still undergoing treatment.

The condition of seriously injured Nithin Reddy was stable, he added.
