Special Correspondent

CHENNAI: The Kancheepuram district police have submitted before the Madras High Court that Fisheries Minister K.P.P.Samy did not speak to a person belonging to Vadanemilie village, off Mamallapuram, who had alleged that he received a threatening call from the Minister.

In his counter to a writ petition, District Superintendent of Police K. Periaiah said the Minister was examined based on the petitioner’s complaint. It revealed that Mr. Samy did not speak to the complainant at the time mentioned in the complaint. The Minister was on a morning walk along with his trainer.

L. Dhandapani had submitted that lands in his village were grabbed by persons in power with the aid of high officials. S. Kumar, who was made to appear before the village sabha in this connection, had given a false complaint against him and the villagers. Mr. Dhandapani alleged that he received a threatening call from the Minister.

Following this, he filed a complaint with the Mamallapuram police. But, no FIR was registered. Only a CSR number was given. He urged the court to order transfer of investigation from the Mamallapuram police to the CB CID.

The counter said that the Minister had lodged a complaint with the Abhiramapuram police station alleging that his office telephone number had been misused.
