Corrections and clarifications

* * The caption of the accompanying photograph in a report “Crush terror but hands off innocents: Mayawati” (September 23, 2008) was “Taking Stock: U.P. Chief Minister Mayawati along with Samajwadi Party MP Satish Chandra Mishra during a meeting of district and police officials to review law and order in Lucknow on Monday.” Satish Chandra Mishra is the Bahujan Samaj Party’s general secretary and a Rajya Sabha MP. The error was in the North India editions.

* * The last paragraph of a report “Integrated leather park to be set up in Chennai” (Tamil Nadu, September 19, 2008) was “Mr. [Jairam] Ramesh [Union Minister of State for Commerce and Power] said two Taiwanese companies had invested $100 billion each in contract manufacturing units [of leather products] in Chennai.” It should have been $100 million each.
