Hemanth stars for Superstars

HYDERABAD: Man of the match Hemanth Kumar struck a fine 80 (48 balls, 10x4, 3x6) to fashion Chennai Superstars’ 24-run win over Delhi Giants in the Indian Cricket League Twenty20 domestic cricket championship at Lahari Resorts near here on Wednesday. Chennai Superstars, put in to bat, scored 167 for seven. In the company of Vignesh (49), Hemanth put on 91 runs for the first wicket.

In reply, Delhi Giants was pegged down by the accuracy of medium-pacer Jesuraj (three for 10) and never really recovered despite fighting knocks by Dhruv Mahajan (27, 26 balls) and Abid Nabi (41, 15 balls, 1x4, 5x6).

The scores: Chennai Superstars 167 for seven in 20 overs (Hemanth Kumar 80, Vignesh 49) bt Delhi Giants 143 for eight in 20 overs (Nabi 41, Jesuraj three for 10).
