Cash awards for Dasara Games
BANGALORE: The annual Dasara sports meet, which gets underway in Mysore next week, got a major boost with the Department of Youth Services and Sports and Sports Authority of Karnataka, announcing cash awards for the participants for the first time.
According to a press release from DYSS, a win in individual events will earn Rs. 5000, a second place finish Rs.3000 and third place Rs. 1500.
In team events, a win will fetch each player Rs. 2000, and Rs. 1,500 and Rs. 1,000 for second third places.
Any new meet marks created and the Dasara Ratna awardees stand to receive Rs. 10,000 each. There will be cash awards ranging from Rs. 5,000 to Rs. 1000 for cycling and adventure sports.
