Billiards & Snooker
BANGALORE: Young Mundir Sherazi tamed the ‘high flying’ Amit Bhushan 877-622 to lift the State-ranking junior billiards title at the KSBA hall here on Wednesday. This was the 15-year-old Sherazi’s maiden title. He had lost to Amit and Balaji Reddy in the semifinal league last year. With both players edgy, there was just one 53 break from Sherazi. Mansoor Iqbal finished third with a 510-490 win over Ashish Lunawat. Savur sizzlesIn senior billiards, veteran champion Arvind Savur was in roaring form as he outclassed another former champion B.V.S. Murthy in straight frames to reach the semifinals. Savur won 152-28, 150-76, 151-123, 151-81. Savur meets D. Rajkumar next. The results: Senior billiards (quarterfinals): D. Rajkumar bt Mundir Sherazi 67-150, 151-66, 150-71, 150-113, 150-135; Arvind Savur bt B.V.S. Murthy 152-128, 150-76, 151-123, 151-81; B.
