Srinivas scalps five

HYDERABAD: Good spell by G. Srinivas (five for 20) helped Syndicate Bank record an eight-wicket win over R. Dayanand XI in the A-Division (two-day) league cricket championship here on Wednesday.

The scores: A-Division (two-day) league: R. Dayanand XI 108 (M. A. Javeed four for 40, G. Srinivas five for 20) lost to Syndicate Bank 109 for two.

A-Division (one-day) league: Hyd Bottling 73 bt Classic 66 (Lalith Mohan four for 18).

Gaganmahal 121 (Thirupathi 43, Gokul five for 18) lost to HBCC 124 for seven (Naresh 42).

Hyd Titans 199 (A. Dixit 45, Kiran Rathod five for 57) bt Vijaynagar 177 for nine (Md. Ishaq 50).

HCA under-19 probables

Hyderabad Cricket Association will conduct matches for under-19 probables from September 26 at Parade Grounds. Players are to bring their date of birth certificates (original) to the venues. The probables list is displayed on the HCA notice board.

Table tennis tournament

Anandnagar Welfare Association Sports Academy will organise Anantha Narayan Reddy and Rameshwaramma memorial State-ranking table tennis tournament from October 3 to 5 at AWASA Indoor Stadium here. Entries close by September 29 and for details contact Ph: 2330 7805.

Kiriti top-seeded

Krishna Kiriti of Hyderabad Postal is top-seeded in men’s singles and Nikhat Bhanu in women’s singles in the Nalgonda District ranking table tennis tournament to be held at DSA Indoor Stadium from September 26.

About 500 entries were received for the event.
