This Day That Age
President Rajendra Prasad, declaring open a gallery of 92 portraits of martyrs and patriots at the Mahajati Sadan in Calcutta on September 25, said that the freedom which the country had attained was based on the sacrifices of the people and it was, therefore, in the fitness of things that the memory of the leaders and martyrs should be kept alive. The President said the gallery would benefit the country in that the present and the future generations would be able to draw inspiration from the lives and activities of these leaders and martyrs.
