Superstars wins again

HYDERABAD: Chennai Superstars recorded a four-wicket win over Ahmedabad Rockets, thanks to a stroke-filled half-century by Vignesh 54 (46b, 6x4) in the Indian Cricket League Twenty20 domestic cricket championship at the Lahari Resorts, near here on Thursday.

This was Chennai’s fourth straight win, while Ahmedabad suffered its third defeat in four matches.

In another match, Chandigarh Lions recorded an eight-wicket win over Hyderabad Heroes with Dinesh Mongia (43) being declared Man of the Match.

The scores: Ahmedabad Rockets 116 for six in 20 overs (Anshu Jain 33, Sriram 30) lost to Chennai Superstars 117 for six in 19.3 overs (Vignesh 54); Hyderabad Heroes 126 for seven (Syed Shahabuddin 39, P.S. Niranjan 30) lost to Chandigarh Lions 128 for two in 16.5 overs (Dinesh Mongia 43, T.P. Singh 43).
