Lokayukta traps two
BANGALORE: The Lokayukta police arrested a meter reader of the Bangalore Water Supply and Sewerage Board and an account’s officer of Bangalore Electricity Supply Company for allegedly accepting bribes on Thursday. S. Durendra, the meter reader working in R.T. Nagar, demanded Rs. 16,000 for regularising an illegal water and drainage connection. He agreed for Rs. 7,000 and was caught while allegedly accepting the amount. R.V. Shivaraj, BESCOM’s Accounts Officer, demanded Rs. 700 for giving Class 1 Electrical Contractor’s licence.
