Four held on forgery charge

CHENNAI: The Central Crime Branch police on Thursday arrested four persons, including three women, on charges of creating fake documents to sell a property worth about Rs. 70 crore.
Police said K. Umapathy of Anna Nagar had lodged a complaint that M. Vijayalakshmi (32), N. Prema (55), V. Chithra (28) and N. Sathish (22) of Virudhunagar district had created fake documents and sold 3.78 acre land belonging to him and four others near Koyambedu.
The accused were produced in a city court and remanded to judicial custody, according to a press release.
