Kaushik takes charge

BANGALORE: M.K. Kaushik, Indian women’s hockey chief coach, seems to have settled down straight away in his groove.

Having reached the City on Wednesday, Kaushik, who guided the women’s team to many a title triumphs, took charge of the month-long camp that got underway at the SAI South Centre, here from September 20.

“Twenty-five girls are attending this camp wherein team strategies, tactical understanding and physical aspects will be particularly emphasised,” said Kaushik.

The camp, on till October 20, is in preparation for the 2010 Commonwealth Games to be held in New Delhi. The camp will break up for about 15 days before reassembling again here before embarking on a couple of European tours. — Special Correspondent
