Reaching out: All India Women’s Conference president Gomathi Nair having a word with Dr. Kutikuppala Suryarao at a programme in Visakhapatnam on Saturday. VISAKHAPATNAM: Noted physician and chairman of District Child Welfare Committee Padmasri Kootikuppala Surya Rao on Saturday appealed to the public to hand over children to the Rakshana Child Care Centre at the All India Women’s Conference office near Income Tax Office building, instead of abandoning them. Addressing delegates after inaugurating the RCCC on the premises during a one-day AIWC workshop, he assured the centre of Government funds for protection of children. He appreciated the setting up of a new working women’s hostel on the premises located in the centre of the city as it would be a safe and convenient place. The working women’s hostel was part of Women and Child activity, he observed. The family counselling centres should treat women well and find out the root cause of the issue and resolve it, he advised. AIWC all-India president Gomathi Nair inaugurated the working women’s hostel while its secretary general Sivani Mehta inaugurated the Family Counselling Centre, which was set up in all branches of AIWC to provide services. Nearly 70 delegates attended the workshop. Branch president Indrani Jagga Row, secretary Talluri Suguna and others were present.
