Keep check on corporate colleges: TRS
Staff Reporter
SANGAREDDY: TRS legislator from Siddipet T. Harish Rao here on Saturday alleged that the State government is trying to protect corporate colleges instead of checking their illegal activities.
Speaking to reporters, he said that about 1. 5 lakh students belonging to Telangana region are studying in Chitanya and Narayana colleges, which collect a fee of Rs.50,000 each from students.
Referring to the recent incident of wall collapse at a branch of Narayana College, he said that the government is not aware that many branches of the college do not have recognition. “These colleges are even controlling the Intermediate Board,” he alleged.
Referring to the recent incident in Nizamabad, Mr. Rao said that they agitated against the attitude of Congress MP Lagadapati Rajagopal, who has been against the separate Telangana state from the beginning. “We will not tolerate if humiliated,” he warned.
