Hindu Munnani activist held

ERODE: A Hindu Munnani activist was arrested on Saturday by the Dharapuram police on charges of attacking the Punitha Aloysius Devalayam.

On Friday, around 5.30 a.m., the right hand of the Infant Jesus statue, encased in a glass, was found damaged. Two stones were found in the glass box.

The police said S. Siva alias Sivaraj, an autorickshaw driver, threw stones at the statue to impress the Hindu Munnani leaders.
