One dead in ambulance-oil tanker collision

A 24-year-old N. Sukwinder died after the ambulance in which he was travelling collided with an oil tanker at NFC Nagar in Ghatkesar on Friday night.

Sukwinder was returning to his native Hanamkonda after admitting a patient in a hospital in the city when the accident occurred.

The ambulance driver, Swamy, escaped with minor injuries, according to police.

Auto driver murdered

A youngster was found murdered at Pansheela Enclave in Kapra under Kushaiguda police station limits on Saturday.

The victim has been identified as N. D. Prabhakar, 20, an auto driver and resident of Malkajgiri.

Assailants inflicted grievous stab injuries to Prabhakar with sharp-edged weapons on Friday night elsewhere and later dumped the body at Kapra.

Police suspect that previous enmity could be one of the reasons behind the incident.

A manhunt was launched to nab the accused persons.
