KATHMANDU: Nepal is reportedly getting Rs. 100-million military aid from China. As per the state-owned daily, The Rising Nepal, China’s Minister for Defence, Liang Guanglie, conveyed his government’s decision to his Nepali counterpart, Ram Bahadur Thapa, who is on an official visit to China. It further states Mr. Thapa also met Guo Boxiong, Vice-Chairman of the Central Military Commission, the armed forces’ highest body. At the meeting the paper said: “Defence Minister Thapa said that Nepal will firmly keep to the one-China policy and try its best to prevent anti-China elements from conducting activities detrimental to China in Nepali territory.” Chaos in CAThe legislative meeting of the Constituent Assembly (CA) was obstructed for the second consecutive day on Saturday over the issue of a Maoist CA member’s bodyguard, who was carrying a weapon. The Nepali Congress (NC) and a few other parties obstructed the session over this issue. Talking to The Hindu, NC leader Prakash Sharan Mahat blamed the Maoists for not changing their attitude even after joining the government.
