VIJAYAWADA: South Zone defeated North Zone by eight wickets in the ACA u-19 inter-zonal women’s tournament at IGMC Stadium here on Saturday. S. Mounica Sai’s 96 for South Zone was the highlight of the day. The scores: North Zone 178 for eight in 50 overs (V. Sneha 58, S. Kavitha 54, S. Hima Bindu 37, Salma Bhanu three for 24) lost to South Zone 180 for two in 37.5 overs (S. Mounica Sai 96). Hakeem in last fourTop seed M.A. Hakeem of Hyderabad defeated S. Dinakaran of Tamil Nadu 25-5, 22-25, 25-15 to enter the semifinals of the South India invitational carom tournament at C.R. Club at Chilakaluripet on Saturday.
