Documentary films on human rights, environment to be screened

PUDUCHERRY: Documentary films on environment, development and human rights will be screened at the National Documentary Film Festival to be held in Puducherry from October 15 to 17.

The Pondicherry University along with the Consortium for Educational Communication of the University Grants Commission (UGC) is organising “Prakriti 08,” the documentary film festival at Convention and Cultural complex of the University.

Notable films selected by a jury of eminent scholars would be screened and respective producers of these documentaries would participate in the discussion.

Producers of the films are expected to highlight their production during the festival.

Students, media professionals and faculty of mass communication, visual media, electronic media and allied subjects are invited for the festival.

Minister of State, Human Resource Development Ministry, Government of India M.A. Fatimi would inaugurate the festival.

Chairman of UGC Sukhdeo Thorat would take part in the valedictory function on October 17.
