Pleasing patterns: Participants giving finishing touches to their creations at the flower carpet competition held on Sunday.

PUDUCHERRY: Colourful flowers decorated the floor at the Flower Carpet competition held as part of Onam celebrations on Sunday.

The eight participants of the competition came up with different designs and patterns using flowers and leaves on the occasion.

After two months of competitions for Onam, which included sports, cooking contest and cultural competitions, Kerala Samajam of Pondicherry organised the final day celebrations with flower carpet competition and entertainment events.

Participants used different kinds of fresh flowers and leaves to come up with decorative and unique designs at the contest and the three best patterns were selected for the prizes.
