JAIPUR: On the occasion of 181st Raising Day of Regiment of Artillery, Lieutenant General C.K.S. Sabu, General Officer Commanding-in-Chief, South Western Command and other senior serving officers and veterans laid wreaths at Amar Jawan Jyoti here on Sunday to pay tributes to the valiant soldiers of the regiment who made their supreme sacrifice by laying down their lives for the nation. Wreaths laidMajor General (Retd.) Jagjeet Singh and Honorary Captain (Retd.) Shaktidan Singh laid wreaths on behalf of the veterans of Regiment of Artillery. Regiment of Artillery was raised on 28 September 1827 as 5 Bombay Battery, which later formed part of 57 Field Regiment. 5 Bombay has participated in 12 different operations till date. On this occasion, all ranks of the Regiment of Artillery of South Western Command rededicated themselves to strive hard with loyalty and sincerity of purpose to achieve more laurels in their endeavours and inspires all gunners to also rededicate themselves to uphold the ethos and spirit enshrined in the motto of the Regiment, ‘Sarvatra Izzat-o-Iqbal’.
