Two inspectors among six policemen suspended
Staff Reporter
BANGALORE: City Police Commissioner Shankar M. Bidari on Saturday suspended six policemen, including two inspectors, for dereliction of duty.
Failure
Police inspectors H. Siddappa and B.N. Krishnamurthy were suspended for their alleged failure in filing charge sheet in a rape case registered in the Ramamurthy Nagar police station in the city in 2004.
Investigation
During the investigation, Siddappa was found to have relied on the medial report and prepared charge sheet in April 2007 by deleting the charge of rape and retaining the charge of procuring the minor girl.
The charge sheet was not filed in the court.
Krishnamurthy, who succeeded Siddappa, also did not file the charge sheet.
Director detained
Sub-Inspectors Swaminath and Munireddy and constables Syed M. Hulikoppa and M.S. Ramesh of the Girinagar police station in the city were suspended for allegedly detaining Managing Director of Clintal Solutions Rangaswamy at his office in Katriguppe Circle and forcing him to pay them Rs. 55,000 in August.
