dated September 29, 1958: Indo-Japan friendship

President Rajendra Prasad, at a banquet given in his honour by Emperor Hirohito in Tokyo on September 28, spoke of the bonds of friendship between India and Japan and of “the universal desire for peace which is so much in evidence.” President Rajendra Prasad expressed happiness that the age-old friendship between India and Japan had once again been reinforced by the friendliest ties of understanding, mutual regard and a desire to be of help to each other in the wider interests of the people of the two countries and the world at large.
