NEW DELHI: A 24-year-old alleged sharpshooter has been arrested by the Delhi police for his alleged involvement in Rs.2 crore robbery at Mandawali here this past month.
Acting on a tip-off, a Special Staff team arrested Shaney Alam alias Alam when he was standing near a school on Saturday. A loaded .32 bore pistol of Italian make, Rs.50 lakh in cash and a Maruti car were allegedly seized.
Alam and his accomplices had robbed a chartered accountant of Rs.2 crore at gun-point on August 13, the police said. Six members of the gang had earlier been arrested, but Alam, the alleged mastermind, was absconding.
