Man succumbs to burns

A 33-year-old man, who allegedly set himself ablaze on Friday in an inebriated state, died on Saturday in a hospital here.

According to Thoraipakkam police, Rajavelu, a native of Puducherry, was working as a daily wage earner at Karapakkam. On Friday, Rajavelu, in a drunken state, had doused himself with kerosene and set ablaze. He was admitted to Government Kilpauk Medical College Hospital where he succumbed to burns on Saturday, the police said.
