THRISSUR: The Calicut University inter-collegiate aquatics meet will begin at the Aquatic Complex here on Monday. About 150 swimmers are expected for the two-day meet. The Calicut University team for the all-India inter-University championship, to be held in Mumbai from October 21 to 25, will be selected from this event. The Thrissur colleges — St. Thomas and Vimala — are the reigning champions in the men’s and women’s sections respectively. Josna P. Joy of Vimala will be the star attraction of the event. She had won six gold, a silver and a bronze at the State senior meet, held at the same venue over the last two days. — Principal Correspondent
