Christians take out rally

KURNOOL: Christians led by Kurnool City Pastors’ Association took out a rally from CSI church compound to the Collectorate here on Monday protesting against the attacks on churches and priests in Karnataka, Orissa and other places.

Protesters demanded the Centre to dismiss the government that failed to protect the lives and properties of Christian minorities. MLA M.A. Gafoor, CPI (M) district secretary T. Shadrak and others took part in the rally in solidarity with the protesters.

The Christian leaders urged the government to pay ex gratia for those killed in the attacks and reconstruct the churches damaged during the raids with government funds. They also urged the government to take measures for protecting the priests and churches from the attacks
