Services partially affected at Government General Hospital
Staff Reporter
Kakinada: The Government doctors’ strike resulted in partial disruption of services at Government General Hospital (GGH) here on Monday. Junior doctors took care of more than 1,600 outpatients who turned up from different places and admitted up to 90 people as in-patients.
The senior doctors attended to emergencies as the GGH gets a steady stream of seriously ill people, those injured in accidents and other cases of urgency.
GGH superintendent MBR Sarma personally supervised medical services in the absence of his colleagues who staged a brief demonstration in protest against the government’s alleged negligence in conceding their just demands. Collector Gopalakrishna Dwivedi inquired about the situation in the GGH and ordered contingency measures to be taken.
VIZIANAGARAM: Except duty doctors in emergency, all others boycotted work at the district headquarters hospital, Gosha Hospital, and other government hospitals in the district on Monday.
They were demanding implementation of the high power committee recommendations.
Issuing of physical disability certificates on every Monday was hit.
