Bhopal: Madhya Pradesh Industries Minister Jayant Mallaiya here on Monday denied reports that the jeep that killed a person and injured another on Sunday on Indore-Bhopal road was being driven by his son, Siddharth. The head-on collision took place as traffic was moving on a single-lane on the four-lane road due to some repair work and suddenly two youths coming on a motorcycle dashed against the jeep near Khajuri Sadak area while coming from Indore to Bhopal, Mr. Mallaiya told reporters. ‘Not moving in high speed’He said that the jeep was driven by a driver identified as Sudama and not his son. Besides, he also denied reports that the jeep was moving at a high-speed at the time of accident and added that if that was the case then Siddharth’s family members including his wife, four-year-old daughter and one-and-a-half-year old son could have suffered injuries. Since they were not injured in the mishap, it proves that the vehicle was not moving at a high-speed, he said. He also said that the driver is a private driver and not the government employed one. However, he said that the jeep’s owner is his son only. The Minister also said that soon he would pay a visit to the hospital to meet the injured youth and added that he will provide all help to the deceased person’s family. PTI
