This Day That Age
Ejectment should not be effected from the land given gratis to the tribals who would, however, have the right to transfer ownership to only tribals with the permission of the district collector. This recommendation was made by the Central Advisory Board for Tribal Welfare at a meeting held in New Delhi on September 28. The States are being asked to complete records, entries, etc., for transferring permanent rights of the allotted land to tribals. Mr. G.B. Pant, who was presiding over the meeting, said that pace of the work was rather slow and needed greater speed. The Scheduled Tribe students, it was agreed, should have separate seats reserved in technical and other educational institutions.
