Ban on sale of meat on Gandhi Jayanthi

Corporation Commissioner V.K. Shanmugam has announced slaughter of cows, goats, pigs and poultry birds and sale of meat is banned for one day on October 2 in view of Gandhi Jayanthi. Meat stalls within the City should remain closed on that day. Corporation slaughter houses at Ukkadam, Singanallur and Sathyamangalam Road would remain closed. Those violating the orders will be dealt with firmly.
