Sarpanch attempts suicide at mandal meeting

GAJWEL: A sarpanch consumed poison in the mandal meeting here on Tuesday after a heated argument with an electricity department official. According to sources, Dharmareddypally Sarpanch Krishna Reddy had a heated argument with the electricity department Assistant Engineer Navaz at the meeting. At one point of time, both of them lost temper and shouted at each other. Feeling humiliated, Krishna Reddy consumed poison that he had brought along with him. However, none was able to tell why the sarpanch brought poison to the meeting hall. According to Tahsildar Srinivasa Reddy, Krishna Reddy was immediately shifted to the Government Hospital. Police registered a case against the Sarpanch.
