Police register case against Lagadapati

SIDDIPET: The police of the Siddipet One Town on Tuesday registered a case against Lagadapati Rajagopal, Congress MP from Vijayawada, under Section 153 (A) of IPC for instigating regional feelings among people of the region.

Following the direction from First Class Judicial Magistrate on the J. Maithreyi, the police registered the case. Siddipet Circle Inspector Ramulu Naik confirmed this late in the evening

Nava Telangana Praja Party (NTPP) R. Chandrasekhar Reddy filed a petition before the Magistrate on Monday seeking a direction from the Court to direct the police to register a case against Mr. Rajagopal.

Mr. Chandrasekhar Reddy, a practising lawyer, said that he had filed a petition before that the statements of Mr. Rajagopal hurt the feelings of Telangana people and instigated regional feelings among people.

In addition to his arguments, Mr. Chandrasekhar Reddy also presented some clipping of newspapers before the magistrate on Monday.

After hearing the petition for two days, the Magistrate directed the One Town Police to investigate the case and a file a report by October 30, Mr. Chandrasekhar Reddy added.

TRS plea to Jana

Special Correspondent from Hyderabad writes: A delegation of Telangana Rashtra Samiti (TRS) submitted a memorandum to Home Minister K. Jana Reddy urging him to direct the authorities concerned to book a case against Congress MP from Vijayawada Lagadapati Rajgopal for allegedly ramming his vehicle into a party worker in Nizamabad last week.

In the memorandum, party’s floor leader Eatala Rajender, T. Harish Rao and others wanted the police to register case against the MP and his driver for intentionally hitting the party worker when the External Affairs Minister Pranab Mukherjee visited Nizamabad.
