9 killed in road accident

ANANTAPUR: In a major road accident, nine persons were killed and 16 seriously injured when lorry and a mini-lorry were involved in a collision near Nallacheruvu in the district around 9 p.m. on Tuesday. All the injured were rushed to the Government Area Hospital at Kadiri.
It was when the driver of the mini-lorry, with many people travelling in it, tried to overtake the lorry at high speed that the driver of the lorry hit the mini lorry.
Those killed in the hospital were identified as Sreeramulu (45), Nabi Sab (60), Ramakrishna (50) and Ramana (45), and those killed on the spot were Srinivasulu (35), Anjaneyulu (35), Khadar Valu (30), Babu (40) and Rafi (35). All the deceased and injured belonged to Nallacheruvu.
