Winners of CIPS scientific convention competitions announced

GUNTUR: Chalapathi Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences (CIPS) organised a scientific convention on ‘Recent trends in pharmaceutical technology’ at which about 250 student delegates participated and several competitions were held for them. Some 100 research and review papers were presented.

Releasing a list of winners at the convention, CIPS Principal N Rama Rao said that the convention theme was divided into four sections and each section was evaluated by experts from teaching faculty and industry. Two students, who secured highest marks, were given cash prizes of Rs. 2,000 and Rs 1,000, each. Following were winners and runner-up at the convention: Pharmaceutical Technology Section: 1st prize: P. Murali Krishna, Bapatla College of Pharmacy; 2nd prize T. Nagavara Lakshmi, Hindu College of Pharmacy.

Targeted Drug Delivery System Section: 1st prize: Lalitha Sravani, Chebrolu Hanumaiah Institute of Pharmaceutical sciences, Guntur, 2nd prize: V. Veena Swaroopa Chalapathi Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Guntur.

Controlled Drug Delivery System Section: 1st prize: S. Annapurna, Chalapathi Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Guntur, 2nd prize: K.V.S.P.K. Chaitanya Hindu College of Pharmacy.

GMP and Quality Assurance Section: 1st prize: P. Siva Pragathi, Chebrollu Hanumaiah Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Guntur. 2nd prize: Hemalatha, Vignan College of Pharmacy, Vadlamudi.

Special Appreciation Prize valued at Rs. 500, was sponsored by K. Bhanu Prakash of Bhanu Info Pvt. Ltd., Hyderabad was given to to Anju. P. Thampy of Hindu College of Pharmacy; and another prize worth of Rs. 500 was given to five participants of Viswa Bharathi College of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Guntur.
