Rajahmundry: Registrar, Dakshin Bharat Hindi Prachara Sabha, Chennai, Dilip Singh, on Tuesday released a souvenir in connection with the centenary celebrations of eminent Hindi scholar Harivansh Rai Bachchan at a function here. Akshara, a literary and cultural service centre, organised the event. Year-long eventPerisetty Srinivasa Rao, who conducted the celebrations throughout the year, brought out the souvenir. Prof. Singh handed over the first copy to P. Adeswara Rao, Sahitya Academy Award winner and coordinator in Nagarjuna University Hindi Department. CentenaryNational poet Dinakar’s centenary was also celebrated on the same dais. Prof. Singh said that the link language for India was Hindi and explained the greatness in Dinakar’s writings. Prof. Adeswara Rao, explaining Dinakar’s poetic language and sweetness, quoted some of his works. PrizesProf. Dilip Sing also distributed prizes to students who participated in competitions that were conducted during the last 15 days. Revenue Divisional Officer M. Jitendra and others were present.
