dated October 1, 1958: Import policy

An ad interim announcement about the import policy for the next six months in respect of actual users, and certain items in short supply like baby foods, was made in New Delhi on September 30. A press note issued by the Commerce and Industry Ministry said that the announcement of import policy for October 1958 to March 1959 was likely to be released by about three weeks. Import licences for raw materials and accessories required for manufacturing goods for exports will also continue to be issued on the same basis as during the period ending September 1958.
