KANNUR: K. Rizwan, 16, from Mattannur drowned at the Payyambalam beach here on Wednesday. He had come to the beach with some friends to take part in the Id day festivity there. He drowned while swimming around 4 p.m. Life guards pulled him out, but he was declared dead on arrival at the hospital. —Special Correspondent
