CFLs to be distributed on subsidy by CPDCL

HYDERABAD: Households and establishments falling under the purview of Ranga Reddy North Circle of CPDCL will soon receive Compact Fluorescent Lamps at subsidised price, thanks to a pilot project being taken up by the company.

According to a MoU and Tripartite Agreement signed with the Bureau of Energy Efficiency and an international consortium consisting of PHILIPS and IRG, the CFL bulbs will be distributed at Rs.15 each. lights. About four lakh households in the Ranga Reddy North are set to be covered under the first phase of the project. The circle includes areas of high consumption such as Medchal, Kukatpally, Habsiguda, Gachibowli, Uppal and Ramanthapur. P. Rajagopal Reddy, the Director (Finance) of the CPDCL said that the measure would result in significant decrease in the lighting load.
