Colourful start to Brahmotsavam

Staff Reporter

TIRUMALA: The nine-day annual Brahmotsavam of Lord Venkateswara took off to a colourful start with the ‘Dwajarohanam’ on Wednesday.

The temple priests carried out a series of special religious activities in the temple. Ekantha Thirumanjanam was performed to the processional deities of Lord Malayappa Swamy and other utsava and parivara deities, followed by koluvu and Panchanga sravanam in the morning.

In the afternoon, ‘Visesha Samarpana’ was rendered to Malayappa Swamy and his consorts at Bangaru vakili. In the evening, it was followed by the grand procession of the processional deities on the Golden Tiruchi along with the parivara deities.
