Minister launches ‘Mana Ooru’ programme 26 issues to be addressed during the event SANGAREDDY: Major Industries Minister J. Geeta Reddy on Thursday warned that those trying to blackmail industrialists would not be spared and strict action would be initiated against them. Addressing a gathering after launching ‘Mana Ooru’ conceptualised by Collector Peeyush Kumar at Kasireddypalli, 120 km. from district headquarters, she said that some party leaders approached an industrialist at Toopran, part of Gajwel assembly constituency being represented by the Minister, to shell out money for them. “This will not only hinder the development but also forces the industrialists to think twice before coming forward to invest in our area. Please stop any such moves. I, myself will force the industrialists to spend money for the sake of community development if necessary,” she said. Congratulating the Collector for the initiative taken by him for launching an innovative programme, the Minister said that this would be useful to address major social issues by involving the community and officials on a single platform once in 15 days. Peeyush Kumar said that as many as 26 issues, including pregnancy of women, nutritious food supply, attendance of students in schools, protected water supply etc. would be addressed under the programme. The programme was presided over by Sarpanch S. Satteaiah and attended by DCCB chairman T. Narasa Reddy and ZP CEO Y. Upender Reddy.
