VCK cadres arrested

Staff Reporter

Tirupur: A total of 14 members of the Viduthalai Chiruthaigal Katchi (VCK) were arrested after they attempted rail roko here on Thursday protesting against the “sluggish attitude” of the Centre against the killing of Indian fishermen by Sri Lankan Navy along Palk Strait and Gulf of Mannar. They alleged that the Central Government did not intervene sternly to protect the lives of Indian fishermen who were mercilessly killed by the Lankan Navy.

The district secretary (Tirupur town), Viduthalai Chiruthaigal Katchi, Durai Valvan, told the reporters that the Prime Minister should show the same level of interest he displayed to protect the rights of Sikhs in Canada.
