This Day That Age
The AFPFL Group led by U Ba Swe and U Kyaw Nyein have offered to give the “utmost support” to Gen. Ne Win when he takes over as Prime Minister of Burma. A statement issued by the group to-day said Gen. Win could be depended upon to ensure free and fair elections and added: “The party offers him its fullest co-operation in his task.” In a reference to the grant of amnesty to underground Communist workers by the Nu Government, the group alleged that U Nu violated the constitution and tried to seize power.
